Assignment
Create a cover for the book Walden Revisited by Your Name. The book size is 4 1/8" by 6 3/4" with a resolution of 300 DPI. Go to the Library of Congress web site and work a portrait of Henry David Thoreau into your design. Include the blurb "A fascinating examination of the present-day influence of an American icon." Work from high-resolution nature photographs that you take in portrait mode for this project.
Grade will be based on:
- The dominant image should be a nature photograph that the student takes.
- No evidence of civilization should appear in the photos.
- Make use of an image of Thoreau.
- Use correct size.
- Place crops correctly.
- Make use of rules and or rectangles in the design.
- Make use of the blurb.
- Credit yourself as the author.
- Experiment with type.
