Course Description
Web design skills are a must for the graphic designer. The medium provides opportunities and challenges that are unique. Students will setup and maintain an actual site on the web. This course will cover the most important elements of good web based design: the use of text, photography, tables, div elements, forms and animation. Concepts of user interface design and interactivity are important. Software used will include Dreamweaver, Photoshop and Flash.
Grade Criteria
- Quality of craft.
- Concept.
- Attention to deadlines. (Late assignments are penalized one letter grade.)
- Attendance (5 or more absences results in automatic failure of the course.3 or more absences results in lowering final grade by one letter grade. Being late or leaving early is counted as ½ an absence.)
Supplies
- Students should obtain:
- at least 1 Gigabyte of flash memory for storage
- A domain name and host
- a digital camera
