Inverse Kinematics. A cording to Flash Help: Inverse kinematics (IK) is a way of animating objects using bones chained into linear or branched armatures in parent-child relationships

The term "bones" refers to object that all the animator to specify range of motion and hinge points between symbols or within shapes on the state.

An armature is a collection of connected bones.

A pose is the configuration of the bones in an armature. A pose is also the term for a keyframe in time for an armature.
